Stories and strategies for a just transition.
Speaking
I regularly speak on the human dimensions of climate and energy transitions, drawing on work across academia, federal research, and community-based strategy. Whether Iām giving a keynote, guest lecturing for a class, or facilitating a conversation, I aim to offer clarity, depth, and grounded insight on the social and cultural dynamics shaping our shared future.
My talks typically fall into two categories:
-
These talks draw from my research and experience working with federal agencies, utilities, national labs, communities, and organizations navigating changing energy and climate systems. I tailor talks to audiences, whether technical, academic, or grassroots.
Popular topics include: energy justice beyond buzzwords; the role of narrative and culture in shaping energy decisions; just transitions in rural and resource-dependent communities; why energy and climate futures thinking and policy design requires historical perspectives.

I regularly speak about my professional trajectory across sectors and disciplines, receiving a PhD in Environmental Humanities and teaching climate justice in a coal state to leading research at a national laboratory and shaping energy strategy in the western U.S. through work with policymakers, NGOs, regulators, utilities, and developers.
These talks are especially relevant for students, early-career professionals, and interdisciplinary audiences seeking ways to apply their research in impactful ways.
